The world of the generous gets larger and larger. –Proverbs 11:24

Generosity is much more than a willingness to give of our finances. Generosity is a mindset, an attitude, and a lifestyle. It releases God's provision and blessing in our life and impacts lives of others. Generosity is not as much about how much money we have: it's about our attitude toward it. When we choose to be generous in every thought, word, deed and begin to sow into God’s Kingdom, we position ourselves to receive the benefits in our lives, impact others and see God’s Kingdom move forward.

There are two types of giving, tithes and offerings:

Tithing is giving the first 10% of our income to God through our local church. Tithing provides God’s House with resources it needs to minister to people, helps us keep God first in our lives and positions us to receive the “open-heaven” blessing He promises us that comes when we are obedient to tithe.

"Bring all the tithes into the storehouse so there will be enough food in my Temple. If you do," says the Lord of Heaven’s Armies, "I will open the windows of heaven for you. I will pour out a blessing so great you won’t have enough room to take it in! Try it! Put me to the test!" –Malachi 3:10

An offering is giving that is above and beyond the tithe. Through out the Bible, believers were encouraged to give generously of their resources to care for the needs of those in need, provide for missionaries and so much more.

The resources that we’ve been blessed with are not just for us; we have been blessed to bless others and resource God’s Kingdom work on the earth! There’s nothing more rewarding than a life that’s surrendered to God in every area and fully devoted to His purposes!
